Jim Ted Cromwell, 45, of Independence, died Tuesday at his home.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel with the Reverend Terry Hatfield, pastor of the First Christian Church of Independence, officiating. Friends may call register at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until service time on Saturday.
The family has suggested memorial remembrances to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation and remembrances will be received at the funeral home.
Jim Ted Cromwell was born January 16, 1964 at Elk City, Oklahoma, the son of Jimmie Ted Cromwell and Mary Sharon (Crabtree) Cromwell. He attended school in Merritt, Oklahoma and later moved to Independence where he graduated from Independence High School in 1982.
Mr. Cromwell worked for his father at Teds Club in Independence for several years. He later worked at Heartland Cement Company before moving back to Oklahoma. He drove for the Dolese Company before moving to Ohio where he worked for Chappell and Zimmerman Concrete Company. He then worked for the Republican Party as a fundraiser with Infocision. He returned to Independence about four years ago.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kayla Jo Cromwell and Savannah Renee Cromwell, both of Independence; his father and stepmother, Ted and Sandy Cromwell of Independence; his mother Mary Sharon Nutt of Salineville, Ohio; one sister, Cindy Cook of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a step brother, Bill Thomison of Lawrenceberg, Indiana; and a step sister, Lauri Thomison of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
